Foundation and early years
2004: PGT Thermprozesstechnik GmbH is founded by Bernd Planer, Dipl. Ing. The aim was to establish an innovative company in the field of injection molding technology, measurement, and control technology. The company name is based on the initials of the founders (Planer, Grommes, Trompetter).
2005: Günter Grommes is appointed as the second managing director. Contractual cooperation with JUMO GmbH & Co. KG as a system partner for plastics technology.
2006: Acquisition of patent rights from Stern Swiss Systems through license agreements and customer integration.
2008: Sven Trompetter becomes second managing director. Move to modern production and office space in the former Camp Roi Baudouin.
Growth phase and strategic realignment
2009: Günter Grommes and Sven Trompetter become managing partners.
2010: Bernd Planer sells his shares to KSK Kreissparkasse Köln, strengthening regional involvement and strategic stability. Development in the field of polymer technology with a focus on patented Stern Swiss Systems technology.
2010: Start of development of new polymer sensor solutions, goal: patent applications and further development of the business model.
2013: Certification according to DIN EN9001:2009 and DIN EN14001:2009 by TV Rheinland – quality and environmental management at an international level.
Integration into the JUMO Group and expansion
2016: Sale of all shares to JUMO GmbH & Co. KG in Fulda. PGT becomes part of the international JUMO Group, benefiting from global resources and expertise.
2018: Establishment as the 25th subsidiary within the JUMO Group. Focus on sales, design, development, and production of polymer sensor technology at the Troisdorf site.
2019: Investment in state-of-the-art production technologies and measurement technology. Revision of the business model to focus more strongly on innovation and customer centricity.
Innovation and strategic development
2020: Introduction of new quality management software (CAQ) and expansion of CAD simulation capabilities (NX). Initial preliminary audits in accordance with IATF 16949:2016.
2020: Development and granting of new patents. Definition of a sustainable production strategy for new market requirements.
2021: Implementation of the production strategy at the Troisdorf plant. GAP analysis for continuous improvement in quality management.
